Barbara Hunt delivers contemporary bites of naked truth wrapped in a rich appealing texture by writing poetry, fiction and non-fiction from her home in Port Perry, Ontario, Canada.

She has spent years writing features for her hometown monthly magazine, been published in anthologies and journals in Canada and the U.S., and was selected for a Diaspora Dialogues mentorship in the City of Toronto in 2008.

As past-president of The Writers’ Community of Durham Region (WCDR), a member of the Professional Writers’ Association of Canada (PWAC), and an associate of The League of Canadian Poets (LCP), Barbara has cultivated a wide circle of connections with artists, writers, teachers and students.

She is president of the Ontario Writers’ Conference, a not-for-profit annual working writers’ conference and has been involved since its inception in 2006.

She currently works as marketing coordinator for Phanta Media in Markham, Ontario, and is a mother of four (plus two wonderful in-laws) and a grandmother of three.
