Piquant Press is proud to publish this anthology of outstanding prose from the 2009 WCDR “Wicked Words” writing competition.

Edited by Ruth E. Walker, this collection features the wide ranging tales inspired by the theme.

Why not settle back into a big comfy chair, in a dimly lit room, with a cup of hot tea, and feel the hackles on your skin rise to these tales of the eerie and immutable fates that await those who dabble in the unknown.

Wicked Words is out of print.

ROCK PAPER SCISSORS w2

In 2009 The Writers’ Community of Durham Region (www.wcdr.ca) held its Rock Paper Scissors: Youth Poetry on Saving the Environment competition.

Poems flowed in from Canada, the USA, and as far away as India, Viet Nam and Greece.

These poems bear witness to the heartfelt sorrow and embedded fears of an entire generation of children who have serious doubts that they will have a planet to live on in their old age. But these poems also reflect the human tenacity and will to change what seems immutable. Truly moving and inspirational.

Edited by James Dewar.
